Nestled
in a valley on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains of Central
Washington State, and in the heart of the 2.2 million acre Wenatchee
National Forest, Leavenworth WA is a popular year-round Pacific Northwest
vacation destination. The Cascades divide Washington like a wall, blocking
the cool, moist marine air of the coastal regions and providing Leavenworth
with a beautiful, dry four-season climate and 300 days of sunshine per year! The Leavenworth
Valley is shown extreme left of center in the picture to the right, taken from
Sugarloaf Fire Lookout on Entiat Ridge looking southwest, about one-hour from town. From the valley floor at
1500 ft above sea level, our small portion of the Cascades rises to the 8501 ft Cashmere
Mountain, 8840 ft Dragontail Peak and 9415 ft Mt. Stuart, all in the Alpine Lakes
Wilderness Area containing the Enchantments. With beautiful mountains and a
dry four season climate, Leavenworth Washington is perfect for a family
adventure vacation with lots of activities and outdoor recreation, or a less
strenuous family vacation destination for relaxing and enjoying the season
and each other. |
